9-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
To ensure that you’re always in the optimum gear – maximising fuel efficiency and acceleration – Discovery Sport’s 9-speed Automatic Transmission has closely spaced ratios. Gear changes are almost imperceptible and shift schedules intelligently adapt to your driving style.
DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) monitors Discovery Sport’s dynamic behaviour, intervening to maximise vehicle stability. DSC reduces engine torque and applies braking to the appropriate wheels to correct the vehicle’s direction of travel by counteracting understeer or oversteer.

HILL DESCENT CONTROL
Assists with controlled descents of steep inclines, maintaining a constant speed and applying braking.

Prevents the vehicle accelerating too quickly on a steep incline after you release the brake.
ADVANCED TOW ASSIST
Control the direction of a trailer when reversing. Using the rotary dial, Advanced Tow Assist controls Discovery Sport's steering to achieve the desired trailer trajectory via the Touchscreen.
WADE SENSING
Taking the stress out of water crossings. Wade Sensing gives you a real-time display of the water level around the vehicle and warns you if you’re nearing Discovery Sport’s maximum wading depth.
ALL TERRAIN PROGRESS CONTROL
The off-road equivalent of cruise control, this state-of-the-art system enables you to set and maintain a steady speed in muddy, off-road conditions.
STANDARD DRIVER AIDS
EMERGENCY BRAKING
If a collision is anticipated and, following a visual warning, no action is taken, the brakes will be applied automatically. Operates with vehicles between 5 and 80km/h and pedestrians or cyclists between 5 and 60km/h.
LANE KEEP ASSIST
Ideal for slippery road conditions, Lane Keep Assist detects when the vehicle is unintentionally drifting out of its lane and applies a corrective torque to the steering wheel, encouraging you to guide your vehicle back.
DRIVER CONDITION MONITOR
Detects if you’re starting to feel drowsy. The Driver Condition Monitor gives you an early visual warning when you need to pull over and take a break.
CRUISE CONTROL WITH SPEED LIMITER
Maintain your current speed without the need for continued use of the accelerator pedal and pre-set a maximum speed for the vehicle.

PARK ASSIST
When activated, Discovery Sport will search for a suitable parking space. The vehicle will steer you into, and out of, the space.
360º PARKING AID
Providing complete confidence when manoeuvring into tight spaces. Sensors on the rear, front, and sides provide real-time audible and visual feedback to indicate how close you are to obstacles.
REAR TRAFFIC MONITOR
Warns you of vehicles, pedestrians or other hazards approaching from either side. Particularly useful when reversing out of a parking bay, even if your rear view is obstructed.
CLEAR EXIT MONITOR
Helps passengers stay safe as they exit Discovery Sport by warning of approaching hazards such as passing vehicles and cyclists.
ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The Drive Pack consists of three features. Adaptive Cruise Control will keep your vehicle a safe distance from the vehicle in front, should it slow or stop when you're cruising or travelling in slow moving traffic. If the vehicle in front stops, you will come to a smooth halt.
BLIND SPOT ASSIST
If Discovery Sport detects another car in your blind spot when you begin to change lanes, a warning light illuminates in the corresponding door mirror and steering torque encourages you to guide your vehicle away from potential collision.
