The five-seater Double Cab Pick up has the capacity to carry personnel and equipment across treacherous terrain securely. And extensive, separate cargo beds on the 110 wheelbase version means that loads can be kept away from passengers.

Defender’s 2.2 litre diesel engine produces an impressive 360Nm of torque.
With 90 percent of peak power constantly on tap from as low as 2,200rpm
to over 4,350rpm, it provides maximum muscle for tough working environments.
With Land Rover’s Diesel Particulate Filter, not only is the Defender’s engine fully compliant with the latest N1 EU5 emissions legislation, it now delivers a historic top speed of 145kph. In keeping with the vehicle’s iconic status as a truly global product, a unique engine tune has been developed which allows it to tolerate the variable quality, high-sulphur fuels to be found across some emerging markets*. To cope with the sort of difficult progress that many operations demand, when the engine is working hard at low speed, around 1,000rpm, Land Rover’s innovative Anti-Stall device intelligently adjusts the fuel required to help keep everything running smoothly.

The driving experience is further enhanced by Defender’s six-speed manual transmission. Specially developed for heavy-duty applications, it is light, strong and also provides smooth on-road performance and slick gear changes.
Unlike many of its competitors, Defender has permanent four-wheel drive with the centre differential distributing torque evenly between front and rear axles to give optimum performance on-road and off-road. What’s more, the centre differential can be locked to help minimise wheel spin and maximise traction on slippery surfaces.
The enormous torque developed by Defender is fully utilised through its robust dual-range transfer box and six-speed gearbox. The available twelve forward and two reverse gears provide the driver with a wide spread of gear ratios to handle heavy-duty applications. The low first gear reduces crawl speed and makes towing almost effortless whether on or off-road, while the high sixth gear produces improved fuel economy when cruising along roads. For extreme off-road conditions such as mud, ice, snow or loose ground, the centre differential can be locked, ensuring power is split equally between each axle to deliver superb traction.
Defender’s beam axles, both front and rear, are strong, durable units with excellent cross-angle articulation (590mm on the Defender 90 and 655mm on the 110 version). When driving off road, this ensures maximum wheel contact over uneven ground. The use of coil springs all round ensures a comfortable ride both on and off-road and the overall suspension design allows very short chassis overhang and accounts for the impressive approach and departure angles of the vehicle.
There are some things that’ll never need improving. Defender’s body is one of them. It’s tough, with a no-nonsense, functional simplicity and a slab-sided profile that makes it all the more adaptable and enhances configurability.
The lightweight aluminium body* not only helps to improve fuel consumption,
it also increases payload, the vehicle’s capability, and gives an optimum
trade-off between form and function.
*Doors and Bonnets are made from corrosion resistant steel.
Defender's iconic looks can be complemented with a range of wheel options.
All terrain capability is at the heart of all Land Rover products. The
tyres have been specifically engineered to provide outstanding performance
at all times, in almost all conditions.
As the all-terrain experts, Land Rover have gone ‘above and beyond’ in testing and development to ensure that the right tyre is provided for maximum traction.
Tyres have an ‘all season capability’, whilst specific tyres have a balance of attributes that may affect their performance in certain circumstances. The size of the wheel and tyre chosen also has a bearing on the vehicle’s performance. Please bear in mind the intended usage of the vehicle when choosing wheel and tyre combinations.
Right for the job and for making the right impression. A selection of stylish, durable trim combinations are available for practicality, comfort and even a touch of luxury.
Includes Driver & Passenger Map Pocket.
The seats are arranged stadium style*, their position maximising exterior
vision and easing access. Designed to be comfortable and supportive whatever
the task or terrain, each seat has a three-point safety harness, but can
be folded to optimise the Defender’s load-carrying versatility. There’s
space for smaller items too, in trays on the facia or between the front
seats. The optional cubby box provides extra storage and includes two cup

Inspired by 21st century industrial design, the Defender facia is simple, robust and practical. The instrument cluster is dominated by the rev counter and speedometer dials and a third instrument enclosing water temperature and fuel level gauges.
The front screen defrosts and demists more quickly, cold weather warm-up is faster, and it generates more heat than ever. Additionally, the optional air conditioning cools the cabin in half the time taken by the previous model.
The optional Front Centre Console Storage Compartment provides extra storage and includes two cup holders

We take our responsibility to the environment very seriously with an integrated and innovative strategy we call Our Planet. Our plan is simple; to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels and the production of man-made CO2 emissions, to use fewer resources and create less waste.
We do this by investing in four key areas areas designed to reduce our carbon footprint, support conservation and humanitarian collaborations and includes one of the world’s most comprehensive CO2 offset programmes.
Investing in renewable energy, technology change and energy efficiency projects. As well as offsetting CO2 emissions from the manufacturing assembly of Range Rover and Land Rover vehicles, our programme means customers can also offset the first 45,000 miles of driving their new Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles.
A joint £800m investment into new technologies designed to reduce CO2 emissions and improve fuel consumption. We are targeting a 25 percent reduction in joint fleet average tailpipe CO2 emissions by 2015, as part of our carbon management plan. Range Rover Evoque has been accredited to ISO14040, a whole life assessment that measures the vehicles environmental impact from manufacturing to use.
World class manufacturing facilities, certified to ISO14001 since 1998. As a company we are targeting a 25 percent reduction in operating CO2 emissions by 2012, 25 percent in waste to landfill and 10 percent in water consumption, based off 2007 levels. Our initiatives include factory energy efficiencies, cutting transport miles and offsetting all CO2 emissions from manufacturing assembly process.
